  • Continuing our series on the Top 5 reasons you should come to HMI Hockey Camp, we are getting close to the end of the list.

Today we are at reason #2 - You get to meet some awesome new friends.

Friends are not just "nice" to have. Good friends are a vital part of human life. A good friend can be hard to find, but when you do find one, it is worth more than gold. A good friend will:
    • Help keep you sharp (Proverbs 27:17)
    • Stick with you through thick and thin (Proverbs 18:24)
    • Love you (warts and all) (Proverbs 17:17)
    • Be unselfish with their time and life (John 15:13)
    • Help you when you need it (Ecc. 4:9-10)
    • Provide sound advice (Proverbs 15:22)

Finding these types of friendships in hockey can be tough. Yes, you play on a team with other players, but those teammates aren't always considered your closest friends. For many Christians in the game of hockey, finding close friends to share challenges and troubles can be very hard.

This is why HMI Hockey Camp is so cool. It's a place where hockey players, many of whom hold similar values, come together for one week to share more than hockey. Yes, hockey is a big part of the camp obviously, but it is not the only part. It's a refreshing experience to meet other hockey players who love hockey just as much as you but are also able to understand some of the things you might be going through which other teammates may not.

We see it time and time again. Strong friendships forming at HMI Hockey Camp. Many campers come year after year and develop bonds that go beyond the one week at camp. They build relationships that last....even when they play on opposing teams!

Don't let the fear of meeting new people hold you back from finding a frind that just might last a lifetime. If you take the chance and come to hockey camp, you might meet the friend you have always been looking for!

Find your friend this summer at hockey camp.
