Charlie Blyth is our Camp Director for the St. Louis CHCI Camp who has been involved with Hockey Ministries for a long long time. 22 years to be exact. He took some time to share how the CHCI camp experience is unlike any other offering you come across today. In fact, it has offered something other hockey camps just simply can't compete with. A CHCI hockey camp will make you a better player no doubt, but more importantly, it will help you to become the person you were designed to be.

How do we know? Well, we trust people like Charlie Blyth, who's life was changed 23 summers ago. read what he has to say below:

HMI hockey camp changed my life. I gave my life to the Lord at Boston camp in 1990 and it was the best decision that I’ve made in my life and of course the most important one.  The camps taught be about Jesus’ love for me. It taught me about integrity and hard work and respect.  The camp volunteers showed me that you can be a Christian and still be a strong hockey player. You don’t have to sacrifice your integrity to be tough.

HMI camps are special because they care about you learning to be a better hockey player, but more importantly they care about the person you are. They want kids to have fun and teach them that no matter what is going on in your life, there are people that care.  So many camps these days are about “developing” kids into better athletes.  That’s great, but HMI camps have proven that you can do that without running it like a boot camp and making it fell like “work”. Kids have fun. Volunteers have fun. Everyone has fun. Reminder that all involved are volunteers.  These folks are there because they want to have a positive impact on the kids.  They aren’t there to collect a paycheck.  I help out at camp because I know how they changed my life. I want to be able to help others as I was helped. I praise God for the opportunity I was given to attend the HMI camp.
